“My name is Sammy Ekker and I am an Army veteran. I have mitochondrial myopathy which caused the peripheral neuropathy I have in both my legs. I have had pain, numbness and cold sensations in my feet and legs for over 15 years and started on Gabapentin about 10 years ago. The pain in my legs felt like pins and needles and would go up to a 9 at times.
Since I started using the Micro-Z stimulation garment system about 3 months ago, my pain is almost non-existent, some of the numbness in my feet is going away so I can feel the floor again, my balance is better, so I hardly need my cane anymore (just for safety not so much for walking) and I no longer have the cold sensations in my feet.
I used to wake up in the middle of the night from the pain which kept me up for at least 2 hours at a time, but I no longer have this problem. Three months ago, I was on 3000mg of Gabapentin but now I am down to 1500mg. The medication made me sleepy during the day, which was also affecting my sleep, so I am hoping to get off of the medication completely in a couple months. Now that I am feeling so much better, I started a new exercise program so that I can get my strength back and get back to my life.” Sammy
